Subject: Melbourne air port Master Plan & increase flight path over Williamstown & neighbouring suburbs
Dear Sir / Madame:
The Melbourne air port proposal (Master Plan) for 3rd runway will increase flights over Williamstown & neighbouring suburbs , with increases in noise & possible safety concerns. Flight path should be over sparsely populated industrial area WEST of Altona & Braybrook.
City of Hobsons Bay council should consult and make submission to influence any future plans for best out come to protect Hobsons Bays peoples safety & amenities!
If Melbourne’s flights are to double in the future, Williamstown's “ quiet / country town “ atmosphere will be lost. (not to mention , no curfew flights will impact sleeping & quiet amenities / recreation and possible safety concerns: traversing directly over the light / small aircraft current flight path to Point Cook airfield & Geelong districts ).
A simple solution, is to confine the future flight paths to the “ Kororiot Creek industrial” corridor over the west of Altona and over Toyota factory / industrial parks through to Sunshine North / Brimbank rubbish tip / recycling areas, (this is a mere 900m – 1 Klm west of current airports direct south approach path.)
The industrial air corridor population per square metre is less than 5% compared to 75% of growing areas of Williamstown, Maribyrnong, Footscray & Keilor!!
Please view on Google maps for flight path over City of Hobsons Bay population / housing density.
The opportunity is now to influence the best out come before any infrastructure is permanently in place! Submissions close.
Your consideration of this matter will influence & protect our future and be much appreciated by the present & growing Hobsons Bay residences .
